ABOUT
Tyler Sorgman (b. 1993) is an American painter living in Watertown, MA. Through his work, he explores the intersection of landscape and abstraction, and draws on these conventions to examine themes of mental illness, trauma, and resilience. Sorgman received his BFA in Painting in 2015, and his MA in Studio Teaching in 2016, both from Boston University. He is currently pursuing an Interdisciplinary MFA at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Sorgman has exhibited his work throughout the Boston area, and his paintings are included in numerous private collections, including those of The Hotel Commonwealth, Boston University, Google, and J.P. Morgan. Sorgman maintains his studio practice while also teaching visual art at the elementary level in Winchester, MA.
